We are looking to add an Account Executive to our specialist Open Banking team. This is a pivotal, high-impact role that places you at the forefront of GoCardless's strategic expansion within the Open Banking sector, where you will be responsible for finding and closing new business deals across the UK.
You will engage with economic buyers and key decision-makers within large merchant accounts to identify and secure a role for GoCardless's Open Banking solutions. You will liaise with a multitude of stakeholders and departments, from finance and engineering to product and procurement. By successfully multitasking, you will build compelling business cases, articulate a transformative vision for payments, and ultimately secure significant commercial arrangements.

What excites you Taking ownership of the full sales cycle to drive new open banking volume growth, from building pipeline and qualifying leads to closing strategic deals. Making sense of a nascent but rapidly growing technology for prospects, understanding their needs, and architecting compelling solutions that solve their payment challenges. Defining and executing ambitious growth strategies that establish GoCardless as the market leader, articulating a superior value proposition to create undeniable business cases for change. Collaborating cross-functionally within GC —including Product, Policy, Sales and Customer Success—to ensure we show up credibly and get deals across the line. Ensuring a seamless client onboarding experience, working with our customer success teams to see that new merchants can transact their large volumes as quickly as possible. What excites us A proven track record (2+ years) of selling Open Banking solutions in a new business-focused, enterprise sales role, preferably within a fast-growing FinTech. Deep subject matter expertise in Open Banking, its use cases, and the competitive landscape, allowing you to sell with authority and credibility. Exceptional communication skills, with a talent for simplifying complex topics and building rapport with both technical and non-technical decision-makers. A proactive, action-oriented mindset with strong business acumen and an ownership mentality; you thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. Demonstrable success navigating complex, consultative sales cycles with a data-driven and technically curious approach. Experience selling direct debit or other bank payment solutions is considered a plus.Salary range: £65,600 - £98,400 + 100% OTE
Base salary ranges are based on role, job level, location, and market data. Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, our approach is to pay between the minimum and the mid-point of the pay range until performance can be assessed in role. Offers will take into account level of experience, interview assessment, budgets and parity between you and fellow employees at GoCardless doing similar work.
