SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Engineering Technician II is responsible for the maintaining state of the art GMP facilities and equipment. The Engineering technician II will coordinate with various departments and suppliers to perform calibrations, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of manufacturing instruments and equipment per the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). The technician will perform planned and unplanned maintenance on manufacturing facilities, utilities and equipment with minimal supervision. The technician will troubleshoot complex equipment failures and determine the need for appropriate repairs. The technician will operate, install and configure new equipment. The technician will perform routine and as-needed building maintenance tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform calibrations and maintenance activities prior to the scheduled due dateDocument calibration and maintenance activities in a CMMS system (Computerized Maintenance Management System)Schedule calibration and maintenance activities and coordinate with equipment owners to ensure equipment availabilitySchedule and work with suppliers to perform service, installation, calibration, and maintenance activities for facility, utilities, and equipmentTroubleshoot complex equipment failures and perform appropriate repairsSupport any emergency and afterhours building needs and activities as required.Perform non-conformance investigations and support CAPAs as neededADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and support continuous improvement & safety projects (gems & good saves).Perform general facility and engineering service tasks as neededMaintain spare parts inventory and 6s standard, order parts in ERP system when neededEnter requisitions for vendor services in ERP systemProvide input on maintenance and calibration proceduresExecute engineering protocols and validationsEnsure proper documentation is completed to meet quality system requirementsMentor, onboard and train junior technicians.Other duties as assignedREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of a high school degree or GED; prior experience or related education is a plus5+ years of experience in a technical/technician role. Prior experience performing calibrations and maintenance activities preferred; regulated industry experience preferred.TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
