Position Overview:

As an Engineering Technician on the Drives & Propulsion group within Mercury Marine’s Product Development and Engineering team, you will support the development of mechanical gear systems on Mercury’s award-winning engine lineup, in a unique and challenging marine environment.

Essential Functions:

Perform assembly and disassembly of mechanical gear transmissions, including spiral & straight bevel and parallel axis gears

Perform routine engineering work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.

Fabricate, assemble and disassemble, and test mechanical drive systems with the written and verbal instructions provided by Designers and Engineers

Create and assist with the development of product specifications and testing requirements for Gearcase components and system assemblies.

Participate in the component development process, including testing and analysis of product failures.

Provide test results to requestor in a clear concise written format, including photographs.

Build or specify requirements for test fixtures and specialized assembly tools required to meet individual project needs.

Analyze problems associated with Production and Warranty Return hardware.

Complete competitive benchmarking.

Required Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Mechanical Technology or related degree

8+ years of engineering technician experience

Excellent problem definition and solving techniques

Strong teamwork skills and ability to work among cross-functional teams

The anticipated pay range for this position is $65,000 - $104,300 annually.  The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.  In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus program. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
