CTG is seeking to fill an Engineering Technician 3 opening for our client in Shakopee, MN. Location: Shakopee, MN Duration: 12 months Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, with overtime during weekdays as needed. Duties: Build prototypes and support moderate production levels of fiber optic products. Set up production lines for automation teams and assist with assembly processes. Make, connect, and test cables; prepare shipments to customers; and perform parts inspections. Conduct contamination checks and perform additional cleaning as needed. Collect, record, and analyze product test data in data systems or Excel spreadsheets. Support inspection measurements of plastic and stamped metal parts using inspection equipment. Provide feedback and suggestions for manufacturing processes and product designs, including assisting with failure analysis. Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel to document and report work. Communicate issues promptly to engineers or operations leads. Follow all department safety and efficiency procedures and participate in lab training. Collaborate with engineers and technicians in a team-oriented environment and occasionally train other technicians or operators. Skills: Strong technical and mechanical skills with the ability to handle fiber optic and electronic products. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong planning skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a collaborative environment. Good eye/hand coordination for precision assembly tasks. Experience: 5+ years of technician work experience, preferably in a laboratory or manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with electrical or fiber optic wire products and small component assemblies. Familiarity with fiber optic products and inspection tools. Education: Associate degree in a related field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering Technician, Electronic Systems Technician, Metrology Technician) OR equivalent experience in a similar industrial organization. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
