This position is responsible for maintaining the filing system for all 13,000 on system and off system bridge inspection files, and also ensuring that the US Code Title 23 guidelines for bridge inspection are followed. This position is also responsible for assisting in the performance of Quality Assurance field inspections and learning to conduct a bridge inspection with an expectation of becoming qualified to lead an inspection team. While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Service laws, rules, and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a high school diploma or GED. SUBSTITUTIONS: Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance will substitute for the high school diploma or GED. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Assists in the maintaining of the Asset Wise bridge inspection program for all ON and OFF system bridges state wide. This position will be required to assist in the performance of Quality Assurance field inspections and other quality assurance processes. + Process new recall number requests and maintain the recall number database to ensure no duplication or error. + Assist in the review and archiving of all Bridge Maintenance “Subject Files” into FileNet and index these files in accordance with Bridge Maintenance Policies and Procedures. + Assist in the review of the bridge inventory and all requested updates for errors and missing data to keep the state bridge inventory as up-to-date and accurate as possible. + May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.
