About the role
Are you passionate about contributing to large-scale defence projects? Babcock Australasia is seeking an Engineering Team Lead – Network and Systems to support the delivery of our largest-ever contract, designed to equip the Australian Defence Force with cutting-edge capabilities.
In this role you will have the chance to lead and empower a talented team of engineers contributing to their growth and development.
Working closely with the Recurring Services Engineering Manager, you will provide effective leadership and guidance to the team and be responsible for overseeing the timely delivery of engineering artefacts, ensuring they are delivered successfully through the application of engineering processes, resources and tools.
Your role will include leading technical investigations, making decisions based on sound engineering judgement, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions within time and cost constraints. You will drive the production of technical documentation, maintain secure records, and present technical information to internal and external stakeholders. Your expertise will also be essential in managing product safety, conducting technical risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations throughout the engineering lifecycle.

To be successful in this position you will bring:
An accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelors degree in engineering or hold the recognised engineering qualifications to be eligible to obtain Professional Engineer category membership through a recognised body Strong computer skills Prior leadership experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills A satisfactory awareness of techniques and technologies that may interface with DHFCS in the qualified area of Engineering Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance, as defined by AGSVA guidelines
