Job Summary:
The Engineering Services Director- Americas resides within the Large Electric Power Solutions organization and is responsible for project based engineering, project management, commissioning/start up, and product support of electrical balance-of-plant products and solutions, including custom controls, switchgear, automatic transfer switches, and battery energy storage/inverter & hybrid solutions. The position is also responsible for the Advanced Electrical Services business in the Americas which includes electrical balance-of-plant modernizations and competitive retrofit solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing the engineering staff and activities with an emphasis on organizational goals achievement, professional development and continuous improvement. Particular focus on driving standardization and leveraging project-based PLC templates to support the custom controls and switchgear business.
Monitoring and continuously improving product and process performance, quality and cost-effectiveness for all engineering activities and deliverables.
Providing leadership to project management organization to ensure variable margin pull through from the project-based business, including interface with the Large EP operations organization.
Support global consistency in the execution of Engineering Services projects through maintenance of the Engineering Services Commercial and Project Execution playbook.
Managing engineering product and manufacturing process or quality issues, from concept through end of life-cycle.
Provide leadership to commissioning, field service and product support organization. This includes leadership of the warranty and service engineering teams supporting the product post commissioning, including support of Continuous Product Improvement or CPI projects.
Provide leadership to the Advanced Electrical Services business, driving dealer engagement, sales growth and project-based execution of the controls and switchgear modernization and retrofit business.
Degree Requirement:
Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in custom electrical systems project-based execution and engineering services.

Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Communicating for Impact: Knowledge of the concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.
Customer/Market Focus: Understanding of the importance of remaining aware of shifting market priorities and ability to respond to internal and external customer needs in a manner that consistently adds value.
Managing People: Knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace.
Collaborating Globally: Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures, think and work with them to bring positive impact and flourishing business results.
Additional Information:
This position is required to work onsite 5 days a week at our Alpharetta, GA location.
This position offers relocation assistance for those who qualify.
This position will require up to 30-50% travel (domestic and international).

Summary Pay Range:
$185,400.00 - $278,160.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
