Engineering Project Manager (EPM)
BorgWarner Drivetrain Group is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as an Engineering Project Manager (EPM) focused on leading the development and launch of drivetrain system solutions for ICE, Hybrid, and Electric vehicle solutions at our Propulsion Technical Center (PTC) in Auburn Hills MI.

As a EPM you will be the primary technical interface to the customer and engineering interface to Program Management and Sales. You will provide project management leadership for a cross functional technical team in the development, validation, and manufacturability of mechanical/software/electronics drivetrain solutions from pursuit to post-production support that meet and exceed our customer expectations. You will be responsible to ensure these drivetrain solutions and associated work products are on delivered on time and meet internal and external customer expectations. You will also be responsible for developing engineering project estimates and monitor/forecast engineering expenditures.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary technical interface to the customerPrimary engineering interface to Program Management and SalesLead cross functional technical product development team in development of drivetrain solutionsFiscal responsibility for engineering project expenses and forecastingProvide change and problem management leadership in identification, planning, and tracking of changes and problem resolution.Communication and presenting project status to management and customers.Lead and/or contribute to organizational continuous improvement initiatives.Foster and promote teamwork by actively seeking collaboration with internal and external team members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in engineering required (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree)Minimum of 8 years of experience in developing of automotive powertrain systems required. Excellent organizational, time management and communication (verbal and written) skills required.Experience in Automotive project management preferred, such as development and maintaining project timelines, financial monitoring and forecasting of project budget, etc.Proficient in English language requiredKnowledge of Automotive SPICE, APQP.Proficiency in problem solving methodologies such as 8D / 5 phase.Proficiency with DFMEA, DRBTR, DRBFM, and ADVP&RKnowledge of manufacturing processes knowledge is required

Salary Range:

$115,200 - $158,400
