About the Role

We’re hiring for a role that crosses the intersection of operational excellence and innovation, with the opportunity to help scale how one of the world’s most iconic software companies runs its engineering and COO organization.

We’re looking for an Operations Senior Lead to join Slack’s Engineering Operations team — a role for someone who thrives on making complex organizations run seamlessly. As an individual contributor, you’ll be the operational engine supporting our COO and engineering organizations, helping to ensure day-to-day programs and processes are executed with precision, and building better, faster ways of working.

You’re not here to simply “keep the lights on” — you’re here to design the system. From removing bottlenecks to introducing AI-driven efficiencies, you’ll help our Technical Program Managers, engineering leaders, and cross-functional partners at Slack and Salesforce spend less time wrestling with process and more time delivering impact.


Your Impact - Responsibilities

Day-to-day engineering operations — drive recurring processes, forums, and operational cadences that keep the org moving forward.

Design smarter systems — apply systems thinking to identify inefficiencies, remove blockers, and create scalable ways of working.

Leverage AI and automation — implement tools and workflows that reduce manual effort and improve decision-making.

Lead cross-functional problem-solving — work across Slack and Salesforce to untangle complex issues and align stakeholders quickly.

Drive measurable improvement — set clear metrics for efficiency gains and track progress against them.

Be the go-to solutioneer — anticipate needs, connect the dots, and make it easy for others to get things done.
 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Operations, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

8+ years in operations or a related role within a technical, product / engineering, or high-growth SaaS environment.

Systems thinker — able to see the bigger picture while designing processes that work in the real world.

Growth mindset — always looking for ways to improve, simplify, and modernize how work gets done.

AI fluency — comfortable experimenting with and applying AI tools to real business challenges.

Hands-on operator — willing to roll up your sleeves and dive into tough, messy, or ambiguous problems.

Cross-functional agility — proven ability to work across teams, functions, and companies (Slack + Salesforce experience a plus).

Clear communicator & influencer — able to drive alignment without formal authority.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $155,400 to $213,800.
