At Northrop Grumman Defense Systems we are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager 1 to support our Ordnance Electronics Engineering department located in Rocket Center, WV.
Position Summary and Responsibilities:
Manage a group of 10+ engineers and 3-5 technicians supporting a variety of ISD, Fuzing and other development/production programs. Actively manage direct reports in areas such as career goals, training and development, expectations and accountabilities. Provide continual feedback with respect to their individual performance levels, including the performance evaluation process. Manage development laboratory for integration and test activities; provide manpower support for requested electrical tests; ensure equipment is available and operational to support integration and test needsConduct resource planning, allocation and management to meet staffing and department budget goals.Collaborate with product engineers to ensure program goals are understood & achieved, technical solutions satisfy customer requirements, and product development test and integration tasks adhere to and comply with processes and standards.Form close working relationships with program managers, system engineers, and IPT technical leaders on ISD and Fuzing programs.Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 8 or more years of related experience or Associate’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 15 or more years of military leadership experience10+ years in a management role leading 15+ direct reportsAt least 10 year’s experience in electronics product lane which must include at least 5 years on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) relating to product design, qualification, and/or production.Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) across all levels of the organization.Proven partnership/collaboration skills and ability to partner with cross disciplines.Experience leading Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) or managing program/technical teams.Proven leadership skills as a people leader, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environmentU.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in military product development, transition from Technology Development to EMD, EMD to Limited Rate Production and product life-cycle engineering.Demonstrated history of program leadership.Experience estimating tasking as well as authoring and approving Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for Proposals.Experience with configuration management policies and practicesProficient in reading technical/engineering drawings or documentOutstanding written and verbal communications skillsCurrent Secret ClearancePrimary Level Salary Range: $101,900.00 - $152,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
