Engineering Manager
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading innovation, engineering, and design initiatives within the fast-growing cryogenic market as part of Technifab's strategy to grow in Energy Transition space. The candidate will manage a local engineering team to successfully support existing products within the cryogenic portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with Business Line Managers, Sourcing, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to manage projects effectively while mitigating risks to timely and thorough completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying the appropriate project management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to deliver results at optimal costs that deliver a competitive advantage in the marketplace. The position will also act as the lead and owns all aspects of a project such as specifications clarification, maximizing value proposition for the customers, establishing schedules, securing resources, and driving accountability to meaningful execution. Additionally, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for implementing continuous improvements on an ongoing basis. The position will report to the Site Leader, and be located in Brazil, IN. **JOB SUMMARY:** + Overall management, direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Engineering Department, encompassing Design & Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, IP, and the Development & Test Laboratory. Responsibilities include safety, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; intellectual capital reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. + Interface with Global Business Line Managers, Applications Specialists, Field Sales, sales channels, and customers to determine technical needs to meet market requirements. + Product validation, documentation, and successful execution. + Drive sustainable profitable growth by managing a team of direct and indirect reports in Engineering. + Manage Value Engineering of current product range to support the strategy for the product range. + Design Control – maintain and manage product designs and specifications. **MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. + Demonstrated ability to navigate and influence the organization and escalate issues when necessary. + Good material science knowledge, e.g. in steels, castings, plastics, elastomers and proven expertise in the application of such knowledge. + Knowledge of modern design and development software packages, e.g. 3D design packages, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). + Knowledge and experience of lean methodologies including (but not limited to) Failure Mode and ·Effect Analysis (FMEA), 5S, Problem Solving, and Visual Management. + Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and engineering tools. + Cryogenic industry experience preferred. + Familiarity of industry standards and specifications, such as ASME Section VIII and ASME B31.3 desired. **COMPETENCIES:** + Aptitude for creativity and innovation. + Robustness of design and industrialization. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees, across all functions of the organization including customers and suppliers. + Strong presence, communication, and interpersonal skills and an ability to motivate and manage at all levels. + Ability to prepare comprehensive and accurate technical reports, production documents, forecasts, and estimates. + Proactive and results orientated – taking a keen sense of personal ownership. + Demonstrated organizational awareness and a strategic perspective. + Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. + Proven leadership skills. + Customer focused mindset. + Integrity and ethical qualities of the highest standard. _This description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work being performed by employees within this classification.
