Engineering Manager, Support Platform
About the Team

DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong platform mindset to lead the Support Platform team. The team’s mission is to deliver a personalized, fast, and seamless support experience that scales across all customers – Consumers, Dashers, and Merchants – across all markets and channels. This team has built several core platforms from the ground up that are essential to Customer Support and are widely used across DoorDash. As DoorDash shifts its customer support into an AI-powered, automated system that delivers exceptional customer support at scale, the Support Platform team is at the heart of this transformation. 

About the Role

As the Engineering Manager for Support Platform, you will lead a talented and passionate team of engineers focused on building and scaling the product platform that fosters customer satisfaction and long-term engagement. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of exceptional systems that are scalable, reliable, and unlock the best-in-class product and tech innovations. You’ll partner with PMs, ML engineers, and Strategy & Operations to define and execute a strategic roadmap that balances scalable platform development with cutting-edge product enhancements.

Be the technologist and system thinker who connects the dots between technology and the business and unlocks business opportunities through tech innovation. Collaborate with Product Managers, business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap. Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 8+  Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking. Oversee the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team. Drive key business metrics such as customer engagement and retention. We're excited about you because you have…  BS, MS, or PhD. in Computer Science or related field 3+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams (backend & web) of 8+ engineers 8+ years of industry experience A customer-centric mindset and will apply that to building out platform services Strong product sense and thought partnership with cross-functional peers Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback Growth mindset – you're eager to expand your skill set and excited to carve out your career path in a hyper-growth setting Adaptability, resiliency, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity – things can change quickly, and you'll need to help the team evolve
