Engineering/Maintenance Manager - Hilton Orlando

The Hilton Orlando is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team!  

Shift Pattern: Tuesday - Saturday between the hours of 4pm - 1am 

 

The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader with experience in a hotel of at least 500 rooms, a strong background in building systems, preventative maintenance, and capital projects. 

An Engineering/Maintenance Manager is responsible for working with the Assistant Director and Area Director of Property Operations to manage and coordinate all maintenance issues within the hotel. They oversee 9 team members per shift

What will I be doing?

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Under the direction of the Director of Engineering or Assistant Director of Engineering, assigns Engineering personnel to specific jobs.Spot checks work to insure standards are met and that building safety regulation are complied with.Assists in the documentation and maintenance of all required federal, state, county and city log and reports pertinent information to his departmental superiors. (i.e.: OSHA, Building and Safety).Supervises installation and repair of new or complex equipment, or building components.  (i.e.: new wall surfaces, floor coverings, etc.), using blueprints and specifications.  Test and evaluate new equipment or structures.Organizes maintenance, repair of all guestrooms through our Preventive Maintenance program, and update the Director and the Assistant Director of Engineering. Plans optimum times for area shut down for servicing.Directs leads, preventive maintenance team, Duty engineers and specialist instructing them if necessary in the performance of unfamiliar tasks.  Primarily responsible for project execution and cosmetic repair and maintenance of the building.  Directs all engineers when needed.Remains up to date on electrical, fire, and building code provisions and on emergency procedures and phone numbers.Accompanies building officials and insurance investigators in their visits to the facility, providing assistance and advice to contractors working in the hotel.Act in the capacity of Assistant Director of Property Operations during absence or as assigned.Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job functionReporting of major repairs, items which cannot be repaired to the dispatch for further action, and if necessary, place a room out of order and room-move a guest.Responsible for maintenance issues within the hotel through management of HotSOS BMS.Assigns, supervises, and verifies completion of routine maintenance and operation of physical structure of hotel, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment, which contributes to the safe and effective operation of the facility.Visually inspects quality of work, assigns staff, and directs outside contractors in tasks according to performance and productivity standards.Hires, disciplines, counsels, trains engineering staff.Communicates effectively with city officials to ensure proper maintenance of permits and licenses, coordinating inspections with the appropriate department.Performs daily checks around the hotelDiagnoses, maintains, and helps repair mechanical equipment within the hotelEnsures good relationships are built with internal and external customersMaintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure they are in safe condition and take action when any unsafe situations ariseAssists in developing, implementing, and directing all emergency programsAssists in developing, implementing and managing energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expensesAssists in the coordination of special projects within the hotelPerforms special projects and other responsibilities as assignedWorks with Director of Security and assists with health and safety protocols within the hotelEnsures monthly safety inspections take place and employees are trained accordingly
