Position Summary:
The Engineer intern is responsible for development of and documentation on new project ideas, redesigning and improving existing processes, and continuously searching for improved quality and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities:
+ Working on a team with equipment specifications, performance requirements, and existing manufacturing capability and Lean principles
+ Aid in the layout and organization of assembly cells and machining centers within the plant as assigned by the Engineering team.
+ Generate and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes, including methods of flow through the use of CAD and PC based
software.
+ Create, design, detail and maintain jig, fixture and gauge documentation through use of CAD, fixture design and process improvement to flatten routings.
+ Evaluate and address potential safety concerns on guarding and interlocking on machinery and equipment.
+ Conducts routine analyses and/or tests pertaining to the development of new designs, methods, materials or processes and completes required documentation by applying basic engineering principles and generating reports, procedures, or change proposals.
+ Provides technical information as input to product engineering planning by researching manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations.
+ Recommends changes to refine and enhance products and process by applying continuous improvement principles and techniques.
+ Consistently applies established engineering practices, standards, and documentation methods. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
+ Provide technical support to help aid in assuring production requirements are met by interacting with employees on all levels.
Qualifications:
+ Pursuing degree in mechanical, electrical, other engineering or related technical discipline.tio
+ Demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of the job typically acquired through one or more years of related experience.
