Engineering Drafter

**BASIC FUNCTION:**
The Drafter will provide support to engineers in the design, development and maintenance, and documentation of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, such as motors, instruments, controls, and pumps.
**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:**
+ Perform dimensional analysis and product performance calculations independently to support engineers working on design projects.
+ Perform layout and design work using current design software and computer systems.
+ Create new and maintain old Bills of Material structure using an ERP system.
+ Create and distribute engineering change orders for drawing, BOM, and process routing changes.
+ Communicate well with all personnel inside and outside the company structure including Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, Purchasing & Inventory Control, Suppliers, Customers, and other personnel.
+ Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings. Uses CAD equipment and software.
+ Follow-up activities in the Machine Shop, Assembly and Test, or Engineering Test Lab are required
+ Participate in or lead Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) reviews and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) reviews with the engineering team.
+ Other duties as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:**
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent and three to five years related experience or two-year associate degree in related field plus one to three years related experience
+ Knowledge of industry developments, trends, and experiences related to manufacturing of products and product components
+ Attention to detail with basic math skills
+ Familiarity with Solidworks and/or 3D CAD software
+ Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or 2D CAD software
+ Familiarity with InDesign and/or other graphic design software is a plus
+ Good written and oral communication skills required
+ Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
