Job Summary:
The Engineering Cost Manager will oversee engineering spending and cost-control for all automotive-related projects for one of Aptiv’s largest OEM customers. This includes collaborating with various internal teams to monitor time entry and expenses on all customer projects, ensuring that budgets are adhered to and that all expenses are documented appropriately. The Engineering Cost Manager will be responsible for communication between departments, tracking progress of actual engineering spending vs. plan, preparing reports and documentation regarding all expenses for customer audits, and identifying potential risks and issues early on.
Your Role:
Develop engineering spend tracking process for each customer purchase orderFacilitate reviews with project managers for their respective POs / projects and document / track action items.Leverage appropriate financial, time-entry, and reporting tools (e.g. PlanView PMIS, etc.).Establish and maintain common database and storage of all expense documents (POs, Invoices, time-entry reports, etc.) to support customer engineering spend audits.Support metrics gathering and engineering spend reporting for Aptiv leadership.Perform internal spending audits in preparation for invoicing and customer audits.Your Background:
Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Finance or related field.Fluent proficiency in English language.Very strong Excel skills.Knowledge of project management tools.Additional Background Preferences:
