Engineering Cost and Workload Manager

Gorgonzola hosts Navigations Air Systems (NAS) domain. The activity of NAS domain: avionics, navigation and radar systems for civil air traffic and technologies supporting the activities of civilian and military pilots, ATC controllers and technicians of several airlines, air traffic control agencies and Air Force around the world. Italy is the Group’s Competence center for the design, production and delivery of Navigation Aids products and Competence Centre for the delivery of non-Radar Surveillance Products.

JOB OBJECTIVE:   

In the framework of NAS Engineering operational, the engineering cost and workload manager is responsible for delivering reliable and competitive estimation packages to formalise the engineering commitment in term of cost, schedule, performance and quality. He is also responsible to provide a consistent engineering workload plan according the business forecast.

He contributes to reach the order intake objectives of NAS segment.  He contributes to deliver on time the relevant engineering activities thanks to support the Engineering manager to provide the right skills at the right moment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The engineering cost and workload manager is responsible for managing the technical activities allowing the delivery of engineering estimation packages which contain: Hypothesis and restrictions, technical description, Work Breakdown Structure and associated workload and expenses, schedule and main milestones, Risks & Opportunity estimations, sizing parameters and cost model’s verification. 

He is in interaction with the bid managers, the Product Line Manager and the Product development team to ensure that the proposed solution is compliant with the customer’s needs and product roadmap. He is in close collaboration with the engineering Head of Disciplines to verify that the schedule proposed fit to the resources availability and the cost estimation is consistent with the activities to be performed and the team efficiency.  

He organizes regularly expenses capitalization sessions with the ongoing projects to verify and improve the estimation accuracy.  

He supports the competitiveness by proposing standard configuration and limiting the specificities which are planned in the products road map. In close collaboration with Bid team, he puts in place generic pricing grids to answer efficiently to the main offers. He structures the estimations to allow modular functional bid reused based on product functions.

He performs regularly an update of the engineering workload by considering the current and forecast activities. This activity shall be done with the active support of the Engineering head of Disciplines.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Degree : Electronic or Digital Engineer or Master University 

Language : Fluent English, Would be nice to have Italian, French

Years’ experience :  3 to 5 years in engineering and offer environment

Knowhow in estimate process analytic based on Work Breadown Structure and sizing parameter /cost model approach.

Leadership through transverse management to

lead the engineering product teams during the offers,

enforce the HoD to extract disciplines sizing parameters,

put in place with the Work package Manager capitalisation of the current projects expenses.
