The Engineering Change Management Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient, controlled, and high-quality implementation of all engineering changes across Ford's diverse product portfolio. This position is responsible for leading the strategic development, execution, and continuous improvement of change management processes, ensuring that design modifications, component updates, and software revisions are thoroughly evaluated, approved, documented, and communicated to minimize disruption, mitigate risk, and maintain product integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role acts as a central hub, orchestrating collaboration between various engineering disciplines, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, finance, and program management teams.
Basic Qualifications:
· Must have 5+ years of direct experience in Leading and Orchestrating as the owner of Engineering Change Management within at least one Automotive OEM.
· Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Industrial, or related technical field).
· 10 + years of experience in product development, manufacturing, or engineering operations within a complex industry (automotive, aerospace, heavy machinery, or similar).
· Deep understanding of enterprise change control processes and industry leading frameworks: Engineering, manufacturing, supplier, product, and program changes
· Proven experience leading cross-functional teams or projects, demonstrating strong influence and negotiation skills.
· Demonstrated proficiency with PLM systems (e.g., 3DX, Teamcenter, or similar enterprise-level PLM solutions).
· Proven expertise in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify process bottlenecks, eliminate waste, and drive significant operational efficiencies, leveraging industry-leading best practices for continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
· Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
· Experience within the automotive industry, particularly with vehicle development programs (ICE, EV).
· Strong understanding of automotive quality standards (e.g. APQP, PPAP, FMEA).
· Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, especially in a hardware-software integrated environment.
· Experience with global teams and diverse cultural contexts.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and process information clearly to a wide range of audiences.
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Process Ownership & Leadership:
· Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of robust Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes, methodologies, and best practices aligned with Ford's global product development system (GPDS) and evolving business needs (e.g., agile development for software-defined vehicles).
· Oversee coordination across the entire lifecycle of engineering changes, from initial request and impact assessment through approval, implementation, verification, and closure.
· Ensure adherence to established change control policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Facilitation:
· Act as the primary facilitator for cross-functional change control and other decision-making forums, guiding discussions, resolving conflicts, and driving consensus among stakeholders from Design, Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Service, Marketing & Sales, Legal, and Finance.
· Champion a culture of proactive communication and collaboration regarding changes.
Team Leadership & Development (if applicable):
· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Change Management Specialists or Analysts, fostering their growth and ensuring their understanding of complex automotive systems and processes.
· Establish performance goals and conduct regular reviews for direct reports.
Metrics, Reporting & Auditing:
· Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the ECM process, such as change lead time, change quality, cost of change, and number of changes implemented.
· Conduct regular audits of change records and processes to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Strategic Alignment:
· Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving overall product development efficiency, quality, and time-to-market by optimizing the change management function.
· Stay abreast of industry best practices in change management, product development, and automotive technology trends.
