The main function of the position involves creating Engineering Design and Testing (ED&T) financial targets for engineering commodities identified for change on a particular program. Targets are set using historical data. The candidate will be part of the pre <Program Start> workstream for a program and supports through <Program Start>. Involves using excel based tools, develop key opportunities, create power point presentations, and interact with program management, architectural and engineering teams.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering strongly preferred (Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Electronics, Software, Systems, Mechatronics or similar)5+ years of experience as Product development engineer, purchasing lead, project manager or similar in the automotive industry.Effective communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence outcomesProduct Development processes knowledge: milestones and deliverables, program timingProcess oriented; organized; strong project management skillsProactive with the ability to balance multiple tasksSystemic thinking: the ability to synthesize quickly and influence decisionsStrong business acumen including negotiation skills; cross-functional experience an assetProficiency in data managementDemonstrated history of driving agile transformation in a costing environmentExceptional communication (oral & written), facilitation, team building, conflict resolution and collaboration skills in cross-functional, diverse environments. Able to work independently and as a team memberData driven and strong experience in MS Excel and MS Office Program execution
