Johnson Service Group (JSG) is currently looking for an Engineered Products Manager. This is a direct hire opportunity with a Manufacturer who supplies steel products for the Highway industry located in Glastonbury CT.

JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in structural steel detailing using AutoCAD, along with a solid understanding of steel procurement practices, manufacturing equipment, and fabrication processes.
This role requires hands-on project and production planning expertise, with responsibility for managing a commercial product line from estimating and bidding through to final delivery.
Candidates must be able to take initiative, communicate effectively across departments, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure project and production milestones are met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Interpret and apply governing specifications, contract plans, and bid documents. Perform accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for specialty fabricated products. Oversee and/or prepare structural drawings for customer approval. Organize, prioritize, and manage a diverse backlog of 50+ concurrent construction projects. Coordinate procurement, inventory allocation, and manufacturing schedules to ensure timely and accurate project execution. Develop and maintain detailed production and project plans, including resource allocation, key deliverables, and timelines. Collaborate across departments to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks, ensuring schedule adherence and workflow efficiency. Create and manage item numbers and bills of material to support accurate cost accounting and inventory management. Define and identify NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) and Quality Control requirements for each project. Ensure product ships in full compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines. Troubleshoot product and production issues and improve manufacturing methods and quality processes. Lead and manage a small team of 1–2 steel detailers/drafters and 1 estimator. Maintain full ownership of product line profitability through strategic bidding and efficient production oversight. Communicate project status, risks, and milestones clearly to stakeholders and leadership. Johnson Service Group, Inc.
