**What You'll Do:**
+ Utilize technical expertise in Transmission Line Engineering to ensure that Transmission assets are deployed in accordance with the design and system of record enhancing the reliability and safety of real-time transmission system operations.
+ Enforce the Transmission Line configuration management program to monitor system changes and updates.
+ Support engineering tasks related to non-Project Management lead activities, storm response, and failures work to ensure prompt and effective engineering response that adheres to configuration management program as required.
+ Provide technical leadership of the design and implementation of real-time transmission systems including the verification of all work related to grid connectivity elements for each facility.
+ Enforce design standards established by Grid Planning and Engineering.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system designs and improve performance.
+ Ensure alignment between records and systems to accurately reflect the as-built condition of Transmission assets.
+ Lead efforts to assess and mitigate risks associated with configuration changes.
+ Support failure investigation process to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
**What We're Looking For:**
+ The Staff Engineer has typically acquired ten (10) or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; OR
+ Eight (8) years of related engineering experience along with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a program accredited by ABET*.
+ Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico** is preferred for this position unless approval to waive this requirement is given by the organization's EVP.*
_*ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology._
_** Confirmation is preferred to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards._
**Acceptable alternative is:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree OR
+ PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
_**VP or above may waive the requirement for a degree from a university with a Non-ABET accredited program._

**Compensation Range:**
$132,562.00-172,331.00 USD
