Job Summary:
The Supplier Performance Engineer (SPE) is a strategic role responsible for contributing to improvements around supplier performance management which result in best-in-class service levels. The SPE is responsible for assessing supplier capabilities to ensure supplier can reach the level of performance, capability and capacity required to meet our business needs. The SPE will work closely with Category Managers, Buyers, and Supplier Quality Engineers
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Ensure supplier performance meets/goes above and beyond through the entire lifecycle of the relationship. Responsible for Supplier Delivery Performance to Request / Promised Dates – RDSL/PDSL Supplier Quality – Lot Acceptance and ppm measures Work with the commodity management, Global Sourcing and factory support teams as well as others to ensure that the supply chain for raw materials / Finished Goods are well developed and managed to support all worldwide Actuation sites. Lead Supplier Development efforts in terms of Quality, Supply Chain Speed, Delivery and Cost Drive supplier improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Project Management, or accepted quality improvement tools (FMEA, MSA/Gage R&R, Control Plans, Capability Analysis, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, Process Mapping, etc.). Ensure supplier capacity and capability adequately support material needs and availability globally. Define and measure performance through supplier scorecards, where sustainability, quality, operational, innovation and financial metrics are integrated and supported by data. Take appropriate, timely and effective actions to resolve issues impacting quality, delivery or cost. Support Actuation’s Global Strategic Sourcing Commodity Team. Coordinate with Commodity Managers and suppliers on risk management to ensure short and long term material availability to world wide manufacturing sites. Support and implement global commodity strategic sourcing programs. Work with suppliers to improve flexibility and quick response to manufacturing sites globally. Provide and Support Technical expertise to internal team members / Suppliers. Review with suppliers and internal design/manufacturing groups to make changes in design, manufacturing processes and/or material specifications to improve quality, cost, productivity and product manufacturability. Assist the feasibility study of parts development in the initial phase of development. Review and audit supplier processes and identify improvements for tangible productivity gainsWho You Are:

Ability to comprehend and interpret engineering drawings, quality systems requirements and customer specifications Ability to understand component requirements and communicate requirements to suppliers Tried communication and teamwork skills enabling effective working relationships Solid understanding on MRP (Oracle) and MS Office software like MS Excel and MS Word Ability to lead change and alignment on new concepts and approaches through persistence, self-motivation, follow-through, and commitment. Must be willing to travel and possess skills to facilitate communications and progress initiatives while travelingPreferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Business or technical degree required (Mechanical, IE, EE, BA, BS), MBA or equivalent experience is preferred Minimum 5 ~ 10 years' experience in supplier improvement efforts with proven analytical, communication, project management and decision-making skills. Knowledge of ISO 9002 Quality System / PED /API6DX / NACE certification programs and Solid understanding of Supplier and Process audits Proven understanding of Lean / Six Sigma tools and techniques.
