The Environmental Engineer will also be responsible for managing three Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plants (IWTPs), one environmental laboratory, and will be responsible for the review of new chemicals before introduction into the IWTP systems. Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations._ + Support Company environmental policies and procedures, to assure that Company operations are compliant with Federal, State, and local environmental regulations + Ensure environmental compliance for three facilities located in Tulsa, OK + Complete and submit biennial reports + Manage hazardous waste from generation to disposal, including proper packaging, labeling, and transportation + Develop and implement waste management plans, including waste minimization, recycling, and proper disposal strategies + Ensure treatment, storage, and disposal facilities operate in compliance with regulations + Conduct regular inspections to ensure facilities and operations meet regulatory requirements + Perform waste determinations + Manage three Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plants (IWTPs) + Support an environmental laboratory + Manage environmental remediation projects in Tulsa, OK + Support other Environmental programs in Tulsa, including spill response **All you'll need for success** **Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or related field, or equivalent experience/training + 2+ years of work experience in an Enviornmental Compliance position + Willing to travel 25% of the time **Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + 5+ years of woprk experience in an Environmental Compliance position + Familiar with multiple state environmental regulation, including Oklahoma + Familiar with aerospace and metal-finishing waste + Ability to interpret environmental analytical + Prior environmental laboratory experience **Skills, Licenses & Certifications** + CHMM or REM + 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification + Strong knowledge of DOT regulations + Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc + Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills + Strong analytical skills, evaluate performance metrics, think independently and provides practical solutions under tight time constraints; forsees challenges and develops strategies to deal with them before they occur **What you'll get** Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: + Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
