**What are your contributions to the team?**
• Support the Aerodynamics Knowledge Domain for Defense programs and R&T roadmap initiatives:
• Reporting to the Defense Director, you will:
• Collaborate with leadership in creating and communicating a long-term vision, balances short- and long-term goals, and connects strategies to OML shape and flight characteristics and flight program activities for Defense programs and strategic technologies activities.
• For new aircraft programs, support the definition of Marketing and lead Design and Aircraft related KD requirements at an aircraft and business level.
• For new aircraft programs, represent Aero at the aircraft level in multidisciplinary teams and work groups.
• Lead risks evaluation associated with complex Defense projects, considering technical, financial, and operational factors. Lead mitigation strategies definition to ensure successful outcomes.
• Approve Aerodynamic Knowledge Domain specific defense designs proposed by the team for complex design.
• Collect lessons learned, ensure use of common approach across programs and identify areas of improvement and evolution.
• Plan, update and support the Bombardier Engineering System for Aerodynamics Knowledge Domain.
• Cultivate an academic and industry network and influence the development of emergent technologies and standards for Aerodynamics Knowledge Domain.
• Maintain a positive outlook and constructive attitude during difficult and complex situations.
• Champion of ethical practices and policies, drive positive change and promote a culture of integrity, respect and inclusiveness.
• Share deep technical knowledge and guidance within the team, provide mentorship to professional and technical expert engineers and recommend development action of technical experts as part of PDP.
• Provide large Defense project cross-functional management leveraging program level Integrated Master Schedules provided by project management team. Provide FAA regulation compliance path for Aerodynamics aspects, Customer Facing/Meeting Readiness, Change Management, ORIS management, and program milestone/gate reviews.
• Conduct weekly program reviews from Director to VP level.
**How to thrive in this role?**
• You possess deep company, regulatory, and industry experience in systems engineering and integration with emphasis in Military or Defense Systems.
• You have demonstrated ability to represent company interests with regulatory stakeholders, system suppliers, large-scale integrators, and Defense customers.
• You are a known and sought-after specialist to Senior Leadership in areas that involve Kaizen and problem-solving systems issues and leading external and internal teams toward solutions.
• You have an established level of trust and influence within the engineering community to cross-functionally lead and enable winning conditions.
• You have held accountable leadership roles (such as but not limited to Knowledge Owner, Systems SME, DER or ODA UM, B&P support, Manager, Section Chief) at Bombardier.
• You have a university engineering degree or equivalent technical experience.
• You possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Aircraft Configuration, Systems Engineering and Integration, including Defense Systems.
• You possess a minimum of 15 years’ experience in Aerodynamics engineering.
• You have working knowledge of each phase of a new development and STC modification program as they relate to your discipline of expertise.
• You have or possess the ability to be ITAR cleared or obtain a US Secret/Top Secret clearance.
• Leadership skills in the development of employees would be an asset.
• You are a team player, promoting collaborative approach among teams to achieve the company’s objectives.
• You have experience communicating with executive level and external stakeholders to provide positive and confident guidance while exhibiting emotional intelligence.
