Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Engineer Information Assurance (COMSEC) - Level 4 (Senior Principal), to join our Strategic Space Systems team in Redondo Beach, CA. The position involves COMSEC support to the government stakeholders while balancing the needs of the engineering team, operations, and mission management. We are looking for a subject matter expert that will ensure compliance with government standards regarding the processes for receipt, custody, transfer, safeguarding, accounting, and destruction/disposition of COMSEC material. As part of the Government Security Programs Team, you will be expected to wholly own problem sets, develop solutions, and safeguard the communications security material across multiple accounts. This is a high impact role, and our ideal candidate will flourish in a challenging environment while demonstrating extreme ownership.

In this job, you will:

Serve as a subject matter expert on communications security and government compliance for a range of classification levels including collateral, SCI and SAPWork with program managers to develop and implement novel processes based on security policies to ensure complianceUtilize KMI to receive certificates, key, and SW packagesMaintain accountability of all COMSEC assets for assigned COMSEC accountsMaintain, in collaboration with program personnel, up to date keying records and COMSEC Requirements Letters for associated cryptonetsDevelop and host security education and training regarding program security procedures including COMSEC security proceduresAssist in the development of COMSEC documentation, including but not limited to, SKMPs, COMSEC Protection Plans, and Transportation PlansServe as a trusted advisor for technical staff for questions on process, timeline, status of assets, and reportingEnsure compliance with government requirements and regulationsDay-to-day support specific to internal programs and stakeholdersConfiguration of ECUs, to include installation, keying/rekeying, administration, and troubleshootingOther duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6+ years of professional experienceWill consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree5+ years of experience as a COMSEC Manager supporting DoD, SAP or IC accountsAbility to travel in support of programmatic requirements to other NGC locations or customer sitesMust agree in writing by way of a Polygraph Consent Form, to take and successfully pass a U.S. Government Counterintelligence Polygraph examinationRequires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems/IT, mathematics, physics, or similar technical disciplineCompleted the TRADOC-approved Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) course and the COMSEC Account Manager Course (CAMC)Familiarity with mission operations, satellite communications, or aerospace environmentsExperience with supporting space launch operations and rapid development programsDeep familiarity with COMSEC requirements and procedures including the acquisition, maintenance, operation, and disposition of related equipmentExperience with security policy and guiding documentation specific to COMSEC-related complianceIAEC-2112 or NRO CRO TrainingKnowledge of DIAS, iApp, KMI or other electronic management system

Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
