The individual will be expected to design, analyze, test, and resolve problems in tape media testing and integration as well as data analysis as an integral part of the IBM tape development team. The individual would also be responsible for providing technical support for IBM tape manufacturing and IBM tape clients. This position is located in Tucson, AZ and is in a laboratory type environment. **Required technical and professional expertise** Tape drive development requires the need to test various media samples and post process large data sets collected during testing. Failure analysis capabilities is also a critical set of activities to be performed. Software and engineering analytical tools such as Matlab skills is important. Must be able to work in a laboratory environment.
