Job Description

What will you do?

We are looking for a skilled SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network Dedicated Storage) Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. The perfect candidate will have a solid foundation in managing and maintaining enterprise-level storage systems, guaranteeing data availability, performance, and security. This position involves crafting, implementing, and fix storage solutions while working with various IT teams to assist the organization's storage infrastructure.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on experience in SAN and NAS administration.Strong knowledge of storage protocols (iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, SMB/CIFS).Experience with enterprise storage platforms from vendors like VASTdata, NetApp, Dell EMC PMAX/Unity/VNX/PowerScale, HPE 3par, Pure or Hitachi.Experience with AWS storage solutions like FSx, gateways, S3 bucket etc.Proficient in backup and disaster recovery technologies and strategies.Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and their integration with storage solutions.Solid understanding of network infrastructure and how it relates to storage environments.Proven problem-solving skills and ability to solve complex storage issues.Good communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, configure, deploy, and maintain SAN and NAS solutions.Monitor storage performance, utilization, and forecastingImplement and manage storage zoning, LUN provisioning, and volume management.Coordinate storage arrays from vendors such as NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE, IBM, or Hitachi.Manage data backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and security.Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on SAN/NAS systems.Solve storage-related issues, including connectivity, performance, and data integrity.Provide technical support to resolve complex storage problems.Collaborate with IT teams to support database, virtualization, and server environments.Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for storage systems.Monitor and optimize storage performance to ensure high availability.Implement data deduplication, compression, and other storage optimization techniques.Analyze and forecast storage growth to ensure business continuity. Develop strategies for data archiving, tiering, and storage automation.Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, processes, and procedures.Generate reports on storage utilization, performance metrics, and capacity trends.Prepare and present technical recommendations for storage upgrades and improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Industry certifications (e.g., NetApp Certified Data Administrator, Dell EMC Proven Professional, HPE ASE Storage Solutions Integrator).Experience with cloud-based storage solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).Knowledge of automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for storage management.
