EducationBachelor's degree in Packaging, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution. 1-3 years experience or 7-10 years in GMP, pharmaceutical, or food.
ResponsibilitiesApply Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility.Promote and demonstrate the company vision of the 4 I’s: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.Conduct all activities safely and efficiently.Focus on continuous improvement through interaction with Engineering and Operations Staff.Collaborate with Production to modify workflows and increase efficiency.Resolve process flow barriers through daily observations and interaction with production personnel.Lead cost-saving initiatives related to business objectives and technology investments.Drive engineering projects to increase machine speeds, reduce labor hours, and reject rates.Complete deviation investigations, change controls, and corrective/preventative actions.Standardize machine setups to improve run speed and quality.Apply SMED initiatives for streamlining processes and techniques.Apply Six Sigma techniques to improve quality and reduce rejects.Provide and maintain supporting documentation for designs and projects.Manage multiple project engineering assignments with sound project management methodologies.Provide project schedules and specifications to Engineering Management.Provide technical specifications for project designs and machine upgrades.Demonstrate and promote the company vision.Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesExpertise in process improvement and industrial design applications for a job shop environment.Mechanical and process equipment experience.Driven by achieving results with strong analytical abilities.Ability to multitask and respond to shifting priorities.Proficiency with MS Office and spreadsheet expertise.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Preferred experience in food or pharmaceutical packaging.Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and PPI.Proficiency in skills required to read, understand, and adhere to SOPs and policies of a GMP environment.Physical RequirementsCapable of fulfilling the physical requirements of the role, including occasional exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force. Position involves prolonged sitting but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
