Summary:

The Field Service Engineer III will install, repair and service chemistry analyzers and instrumentation to ensure continuous operation.   Ensure customer needs and expectations are met and exceeded while promoting a positive image of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform on-site installation, repair, maintenance, qualification, and verification of clinical and discrete chemistry analyzers in accordance with instrument/product manufacturers specifications.Provide effective, timely communication and scheduling with the customer, colleague.Ensure effective and timely service and appropriate documentation is recorded through required processes.Knowledgeable of safe operations and maintenance of the analyzers.Increase analyzer uptime and maintain a high level of customer allegiance.

Technical Responsibilities:

Must be proficient using customer management software to dispatch/prioritize service calls, handle parts inventory, and complete job tasks.Collaborate with the North American Field Service Escalation Team to analyze, review and inspect findings, then decide if assistance from the manufacturer is required to determine root cause, and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action.Assist with on boarding of new hires.Shows ability to coach/mentor other Field Service Engineers.Opportunity to be trained as a trainer on one or more instruments.Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Instrumentation, military experience in a technical field or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.Minimum of 3 years experience as a Field Service Engineer, preferably working on Clinical Chemistry Analyzers. (i.e. Roche, Beckman Coulter, Abbott Labs, Siemens)Ability to prioritize service requests and produce clear and concise documentation.Must have ability to work independently and have good interpersonal, communication and time management skills.        Computer proficient.                                                     Must be available to travel overnight up to 85% within the territory or other areas as needed.

Job Responsibilities and Physical Requirements

Ability to safely lift 50 lbs with assistance on occasion, and carry 25-30 lbs continuously throughout the day.Ability to bend, squat, stretch, and reach daily in a service function.Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.Regular and reliable attendance.
