Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) - Mechanical

Purpose of the Role

Graduate engineer trainee role at Weir EnSci brings new talent to the organisation with a focus to develop skills and competencies across multiple areas of engineering. This role contributes to innovative solutions and bringing new ideas to work which can be utilised in product design, integrated solutions, order and application engineering, productivity improvement and research activities.

Role Summary

A Graduate Engineer Trainee starts the journey at Weir EnSci through a structured training plan designed specifically to

Enhance engineering applicationAcquire domain knowledge – Minerals and Mining processUnderstand Weir Products and its applicationsThe program also includes skill enhancement through tool training, campus to corporate orientation, domain and process training including Innovation, New Product Development (NPD), VAVE, Order and Application Engineering, Integrated Solutions, Domain and Product specific training from internal subject matter experts.

 

Key responsibilities

Conduct component/Assembly/Product geometry optimisation through CAD/E tools and engineering processes. Responsible for design validation through test prototypes.Follow prescribed procedures and conduct analysis to develop design options or recommendations for products, structures and systems.Prepare documentation, such as testing protocols and manuals to meet project deliverables.Work on engineering requirements with solution mindset to add value back to Weir.Contribute to technology exploration benefiting Weir by participating in industry conferences/forums/seminars.Create white papers, technical papers promoting technological values to Weir through study and research.Contribute to innovation challenges posted by Weir.Collaboratively work with different inter-company units and contribute towards global projects.

 

Qualification and Skills

Fresh graduate with Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Production, Automobile Engineering, or Mining Engineering

Applicants with a strong academic record (typically a CGPA of 7.0 or above) are encouraged to apply

Technical Skills

Well versed with engineering fundamentals and calculationsExposure to CAD/CAE tools
