Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a Design Engineer with expertise in power distribution systems to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves designing, analyzing, and optimizing electrical distribution networks to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of power. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to project planning, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop overhead and underground power distribution systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications
Prepare engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation)
Conduct load flow, short circuit, and voltage drop analyses to ensure system reliability
Collaborate with project managers, field engineers, and utility clients to define project scope and deliverables
Ensure designs comply with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and utility-specific standards
Support cost estimation, material selection, and procurement processes
Participate in field visits to gather data and verify design feasibility
Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases

Skills and Requirements
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in power distribution design (utility or consulting environment)
Proficiency in CAD software and power system analysis tools (e.g., CYME, ETAP, SKM)
Strong understanding of distribution system components, including transformers, switchgear, and protective devices
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills Preferred Skills:
Experience with GIS-based design platforms
Familiarity with smart grid technologies and renewable energy integration
Knowledge of utility permitting and regulatory processes null
