We're seeking a Engagement Worker to join our compassionate and diverse team in HMP Humber - a group of professionals committed to supporting individuals with compassion. 

   

Location: HMP Humber 

Hours: Full-time (37.5 per week) 

Full Time Salary: £25,077.00 – £26,502.53 dependent on experience (pro rata)

Contract: Permanent 

 

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours. 

Responsibilities

About Us: 

 

Our HMP Humber service provides vital assistance to individuals within a prison setting, guiding them in their recovery through carefully structured programs, supportive harm reduction groups and regular recovery check-ins. Additionally, we collaborate closely with our service users to assist them with their prison release planning, aiming to encourage and facilitate a smooth transition back into society. 

 

Some aspects of the role:

 

As an Engagement Worker, you will play an essential role within HMP Humber. As part of your role you can be expected to:- 

Conduct welfare reviews for clients who are requesting immediate supportCompleting urine screens for men that require, as identified by allocated case coordinator.Complete initial assessments for self-referrals identifying those who are suitable for service and closing those who need no on-going support. Opening care plans with SMART goals that will be continued by recovery coordinators.Open line of communication with departments in the establishment such as chaplaincy or families and keeping clients and the team up to date with changes or events.Manage detox gym waiting lists and communicate this with gym staff on a weekly basisIdentify from point of initial assessment the brief intervention clients and complete the PSI if this is 3x sessions or less. Inclusive but not exhaustive of topics: substance awareness, harm reduction and relapse prevention.Visit all men identified under the influence within daily brief the day prior to offer harm reduction session and continued support as necessaryCheck MDT outcomes on a weekly basis to identify any failed urine screens. Task recovery coordinators with outcome for information purposes and visit all to offer support in relation to this

 

Now, let's talk about you. Here's what we're looking for:

Knowledge of general office proceduresExperience of drug of alcohol treatment services or other similar backgroundThe ability to respond to appropriate requests for assistance, maintaining confidentiality whenever necessaryAbility to work with and manage challenging behaviourAccess to own transportCommunicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writingClinical services provision understanding (desirable but not essential)
