JOB SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of small to medium complexity technology solutions in both a new product development and current model environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop new products from requirement analysis, architecture creation, detailed design, off-tool evaluation till mass productionWork and collaborate closely with team to define, design, and develop ideas from concept to finished design and solve engineering problems to make products that meet all performance and functional criteria within demanding project timescalesPreparation of Bill of Material, parts/modules specifications and material specifications. Collect, develop, maintain, and organize project documentation in accordance with company’s engineering standards.Knowledge of evaluating design margins and reliability factors (tolerances, material strength and compatibility)Work with NPI, System Engineer and Test Engineers to facilitate assembly process and testing methodsWell versed with Design FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and DFA (Design for Assembly)Working with suppliers and internal production sites to introduce products and resolve technical issuesLead engineering change, technical cost reduction and fixture design for series productionSupport existing products. Investigate and determine root cause of product issues and determine appropriate resolutionLead failure analysis on products and recommend necessary improvements to enhance product performanceEnsure design output compliant with regulatory standards and regulations for the medical device industryGood knowledge in sheet metal, plastic enclosure, extrusions, and castings designMaterial and process knowledge – metal stamping, injection molding, insert molding, die casting, extrusion, machining, plating, welding, and powder coatingSelf-motivated, ability in recognizing problems and take corrective actionWhat We OfferAt Baxter Healthcare Corporation, we believe in fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
