About the Role We’re seeking a highly skilled energy modeling professional to join our resource planning team and help shape the future of reliable, sustainable, and compliant energy solutions. This is a high-impact role where your technical expertise and strategic insight will directly influence how we plan and optimize our power systems. You’ll work with industry-leading IRP software (PLEXOS, Aurora, Strategist, SERVM) to build and maintain robust energy models, simulate future scenarios, and ensure regulatory alignment. What You’ll Do + Model Development & Support: Build and maintain advanced IRP models using tools like PLEXOS, Aurora, Strategist, or SERVM. + Scenario Analysis: Simulate various planning scenarios to assess system reliability, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. + Data Analytics: Use Python, R, SQL, and Excel to analyze complex datasets and extract actionable insights. + Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and integrate evolving regulatory requirements into planning models. + Reporting & Communication: Prepare clear, compelling documentation and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies. What You Bring + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, IT, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field. + Senior Level: 6+ years of relevant experience + Consultant Level: 8+ years of relevant experience + Proven experience with IRP modeling tools and energy market analysis. + Strong programming and data analysis skills (Python, R, SQL). + Excellent communication and presentation skills. + Familiarity with electric utility operations, natural gas markets, and wholesale market dynamics is a plus.
