Responsible for analyzing/evaluating and interpreting markets, models and potential transactions in order to improve TVA’s overall system cost. Analyzes information utilizing and developing decision models and tools designed to facilitate and increase value to TVA. Assists in development of strategy and analyzing physical and financial coal, gas and power deals. Evaluation, integration, and interpretation of results of models/data produced by Resource Planning & Strategy, Power Operations, Transmission & Power Supply, Distributed Energy Resources, and Financial Services. Interprets and presents results to support fuel supply decisions, advise traders and provide decision analysis support to senior management. Utilizes analyses to recommend strategies to optimize economic benefits of various deals to TVA. This position is a support position sharing, with more senior analysts, accountability and responsibility in the functional areas of Portfolio Analytics. The incumbent will continue to develop specialized skills and the knowledge required to progress in the Energy Market Analyst job family, while also completing tasks in one or more of the functional areas. This position shares responsibility for developing analysis, valuation tools, providing risk evaluation, influencing strategy, and building communication and collaboration channels with our customers and support organizations. Continued learning about TVA’s power system, mission, strategy, customers, etc., with focus on evolving market specific information like customerowned generation, deal structuring, and commodities is expected. The incumbent will also develop the skills necessary to effectively communicate with our customers including presentation skills and experience with Excel, Powerpoint, and other tools.
