Job Description
The Energy Manager holds overall responsibility for the management and operation of the utility systems, including CoGen (GE LM6000 TG with HRSG unit), boilers, steam turbines, filtered water and wastewater treatment plants, and landfill. The main objective is to provide reliable, effective, and low-cost utility systems support to the mill's papermaking operations, thereby delivering quality products and services through continuous improvement efforts in a safe, reliable, and team-oriented manner.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop strategies and create plans to reduce energy consumption and implement more energy-efficient technologies.Monitor usage, track energy consumption, and identify areas for improvement.Educate and teach team members about energy-saving practices.Devise, provide, and manage systems to ensure adequate training and coaching of all department personnel.Negotiate contracts and work with contractors and external stakeholders, including energy suppliers.Stay up to date and keep current with energy legislation.Research and recommend new technologies and renewable sources.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement energy efficiency projects.Analyze data and identify trends and patterns in energy usage data.Ensure policies and procedures are in place for the safe operation of boiler, water, waste treatment, and landfill systems.Ensure operation of CoGen, boiler, waste treatment, and landfill systems are in compliance with all environmental regulations.Communicate overall operations status of the Utilities systems to all levels of mill management.Work directly with Operations to improve the reliability and cost of delivered utilities.Plan, budget, and administer preventive maintenance procedures and programs.Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets.Coordinate with Procurement all energy and utilities-related contracts.Create and administer department safety programs that align with mill programs.Develop and initiate programs and projects to improve the safety, reliability, and effectiveness of department operations.Provide information to management and all areas of the mill to generate awareness of energy usage and costs.Provide direction in development, design, installation, and start-up of utility, department, and related projects.Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5+ years of professional experience in energy or facility management, environmental services, engineering, or equivalent experience promoting resource efficiency within an organization.Experience managing energy consumption and operating costs related to a range of facility and asset types, including analyzing and evaluating data and using software and data management tools.Experience with budgeting, procurement and contract documents, and financing, including grant programs.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with multiple stakeholders.Demonstrated leadership experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP), Building Operator Certification (BOC), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), or other relevant credentials are preferred.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
