Energy Engineer
**Description** EMCOR Services Betlem has been in the facilities management and mechanical contracting business for over 100 years, maintaining facilities, designing, building, and servicing HVAC, refrigeration, controls, ductwork, and piping systems for new construction, renovation, and retrofit projects. Our engineering team consists of individuals with experience in energy engineering and/or mechanical design to support project development and construction. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our engineering team and assist in the growth of our company as an Energy Engineer. As an Energy Engineer, you’ll spearhead comprehensive energy assessments, helping clients reduce costs and improve efficiency. Your expertise will guide audits, analysis, and implementation of energy conservation measures across diverse building systems. By joining our team, you will gain valuable experience and training in mechanical design, with potential career progression into advanced design roles, leadership positions, or specialized engineering fields. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned: + Conduct thorough energy audits, identifying conservation measures and efficiency improvements for commercial, industrial, and residential customers + Analyze utility bills, track energy consumption, and develop baseline models + Perform site inspections to assess HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems + Develop energy saving recommendations based on system observations + Perform energy savings calculations to determine the energy impact of identified measures + Write technical summary reports to share findings and recommendations with clients + Work with NYSERDA, local utilities, and/or other agencies to identify and secure energy incentives for eligible mechanical construction projects + Support project managers, sales teams, and customers to identify and engage in energy initiatives + Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and corporate policies + Ensure that work is executed as scheduled and in alignment with team priorities **Qualifications** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. + Three or more years of relevant experience + Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in energy engineering or a related field (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or similar) + Experience in performing in ASHRAE Level I, II, and III or similar energy audits/studies is required + Must have the ability to work independently and show their problem-solving skills in identifying solutions and performing energy impact analyses + Must have experience using Microsoft Office Suite + Commercial and/or industrial building experience preferred + Experience in using energy modeling software is preferred + Experience in working with NYSERDA and local utility incentives is preferred + Ability to work with customers and others at all levels + Be a team player, committed to working in a quality environment + Professional Engineer, Engineer in Training, Certified Energy Manager, and/or Energy Manager in Training certifications/licenses preferred **As a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we** **offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
