Endoscopy PCT/HUC Part Time

Summary

This 0.45 FTE part time PCT/HUC position will have a focus on transporting but also must be comfortable with assisting patients with basic ADLs, collecting vital signs, blood glucose, and 12 Lead EKG, in addition to basic clerical duties. The hours for this position are Monday 0830-1700 and Thursday/Friday 1200-1730.

Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.

Description:

Assists patients in personal hygiene such as bathing, dental and oral care, hair and nail care.Assists patients with bowel and bladder functions while maintaining dignity and recording I & O. Doesnot leave patient unattended when out of bed for bathroom assistance.Assists patients in dressing and undressing while providing dignity and privacy.Assists patients by lifting them manually or by mechanical lifts as needed as directed by the nurse.Assists patients with eating and drinking and nutritional needs.Assist in transferring and discharging patients as required.Assists patients in positioning for meals including cleaning hands of patientAssists with serving meals and feeding patients as necessaryOffers supplemental feeding/snacksProvides patient with fresh ice and drinking water per policyDocuments input on chart at least every two hoursTurns patients every two hours and/or as indicated as directed by the NurseMaintains proper body alignment while performing patient transfer and activitiesEscorts patients during admission, transfer, and discharge as requestedAssists with ambulation, up in chair, or other activitiesVerifies patient’s limitations, restrictions, and plan for mobility with Nurse prior to initiation of patient care.On Call required-weeknights, weekends, and holiday picked by rotation.

Requirements:

High School Diploma and/or Equivalent.Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completions of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation.BCLS by the end of orientation period. (3 months)
