POSITION SUMMARY: The Endoscopy/Central Supply Tech Assistant is responsible for performing established nursing care procedures for individuals and performs miscellaneous related duties and special projects as assigned by the RN, Charge Nurse, and Manager Nursing/Patient Care. The Endoscopy/Central Supply Tech Assistant is responsible for performing decontamination, sterilization, maintaining required documentation, assembling case carts, and maintaining inventories using recommended standards of the Michigan Department of Public Health, the Joint Commission, Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, and the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management. The Endoscopy/Central Supply Tech Assistant works under the direction of the Manager Nursing/Patient Care Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma/GED Experience: One (1) year experience in Central Service or one (1) year experience working as an Endoscopy Technician. Licensure/Certification: Certified as a Registered Central Service Technician or as a Registered Surgical Technician or must obtain within one year. Certified as a Certified Endoscope Reprocessor or must obtain within one year. Current certification by the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS. Other Skills/Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate’s degree OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
