Job Summary:

Our EMS Paramedic Clinical Instructor is dedicated to molding highly skilled and confident Paramedics who can excel in the field of emergency medical services. Their dedication to providing comprehensive and rigorous training helps to ensure that Paramedics are well-prepared to handle a wide range of emergency situations with confidence and expertise. By focusing on the development of competent and capable professionals, these instructors play a vital role in upholding the standards of excellence within the field of emergency medical services and ultimately contribute to the well-being and safety of communities.

Key Position Details:

0.5 FTE (40 hours per 2-week pay period)This position offers a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, covering day, evening, and night rotations.Occasional weekends

Job Description:

Teaches prehospital medical education to First Responder agencies in the community, and to community groups.

Principle Responsibilities

Provides emergency medical education.Develops basic and advanced class curriculum based on Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, and Medical Director standards.Administers basic and advanced curriculum in a classroom and scenario based setting, indoors and outdoors.Prepares materials for use in class setting.Provides feedback to students regarding exams and skills.Mentors and provides direction to additional instructors.Manages class logistics.Completes course documentation.Cleans and maintains class equipment.Arranges for additional instructors when needed.Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

Vocational or Technical Training in Paramedic program for Paramedics in this role orAssociate's or Vocational degree for Registered Nurses in this role2 years working as a Paramedic or Registered Nurse providing patient care


Licenses/Certifications

Certified Paramedic - Office of EMS required upon hire orLicensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required for Registered Nurses in Minnesota practice settings upon hire orLicensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required for Registered Nurses in Wisconsin practice settings upon hireValid Driver’s License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver’s license in their state of residence within 60 days of employmentAdvanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire. After hire recertification required through American Heart AssociationAmerican Heart Association BLS instructor within 6 months of hire required

Pay Range

Pay Range: $32.20 to $44.13 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
