Employment / Housing Specialist
Description We are looking for an experienced Employment/Housing Specialist to join a team dedicated to providing critical support to families in need. This Contract position is onsite in Los Angeles, California, and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of underserved populations. The assignment is expected to last 2–4 months, with an immediate start date. Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop personalized plans aimed at stabilizing families. • Connect clients with resources for education, vocational training, and employment opportunities. • Provide guidance on job readiness, including resume building, interview preparation, and career coaching. • Lead financial literacy workshops and assist clients in applying for benefits. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress using organizational databases. • Collaborate with other team members to ensure the delivery of holistic support services. • Monitor client outcomes and adjust plans as needed to meet their evolving needs. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. • Minimum of three years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of housing instability. • Valid California driver’s license, current auto insurance, and access to reliable transportation. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with clients and team members. • Familiarity with supportive housing programs, case management practices, and low-income housing tax credit policies is a plus.
