Employment Coordinator
Position Summary: The Employment Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with employers to create unsubsidized employment opportunities for members; market Jobs-Plus members to employers; work closely with Workforce1 career centers. What You'll Do: + Secure employment opportunities according to members’ sector-specific career pathways including part time and/or full-time employment of making approved minimum wage by providing interview referrals on a weekly basis. + Coordinate closely with Workforce1 career center staff and coordinates two onsite events quarterly. + Recruit employers, residents, community leaders, and CoS partners as guest speakers and/or event sponsors. + Conduct field visits on a bi-weekly basis to ensure that all employers are well versed in the methodologies of the program. + Prepare members for transitional employment. + Meet with members to clearly ascertain their skills and strengths in order to present candidate to employer. Your Responsibilities Include: + Conduct cold calls each day to employers with the express purpose of identifying businesses that are currently hiring, in addition to follow-up calls to employers. + Host at least two onsite employment events monthly at BJP. + Attend at least one HRA-led P.D. per quarter. + Leverage relationships with employers to meet the needs of members. + Perform follow up with employer to obtain feedback regarding interviews identifying strengths, areas of improvement and next steps. + Prepare and develops training materials for seminars and workshops as needed by the Career Development Specialists, Education Coordinator, and Financial Counselor. + Regularly review local newspapers and websites to remain abreast of employer open houses and refer all qualified members. + Complete weekly reports of cold calls and field visits. + Design and creates recruitment strategies, on site employer visits, “meet the manager” days, and cyber info sessions for internet job search companies that operate and screen through automated methods. + Enter case notes for every member and complete all necessary reports in FedcapCARES™ and HHSA Information System. + Announce job leads weekly in workshops and work closely with facilitators on follow-ups with members referred for interviews. + Assist retention unit to ensure all employment data is accurate and verified You're a Great Fit For this Role If: + You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in business management, human relations, social work or related field, such as psychology, vocational rehabilitation, occupational rehabilitation/therapy or related field from an accredited institution required or commensurate experience. + Bring a minimum of 1 year experience in job development, human relations, employer relations, workforce development or 2 years of experience working with employment program for individuals with barriers to employment or commensurate experience. Compensation: $21.64/hr-$27.89
