D.R. Horton, Inc.is currently looking for an experiencedand strategicEmployee Relations Directorto join our Corporate Employee Relations Team. This senior-level role will serve as a trusted partner to corporate, regional, and divisional leadership nationwide to offer sound judgment, clear communication, and hands-on support with complex employee relations matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Partner with corporate, regional, and divisional leadership to investigate and resolve complex employee relations issuesAdvise managers and HR staff on employee relations best practicesConduct thorough and timely investigations, including interviews and documentationAct as trusted advisor to senior management regarding judgement, communication and support to drive consistency.Draft and review employee relations communications and disciplinary actionsProvide coaching and performance management support to leadersEnsure consistent application of HR policies and proceduresDesign and deliver employee relations training and resources, including national travel to lead in-person HR trainings focused on employee relations and managerial best practicesAnalyze trends from exit interviews and surveys to improve retentionMaintain a comprehensive understanding of employment laws and compliance requirements, including EEOC, FMLA, ADA, state pay equity, and leave of absence processes, to ensure alignment with local, state, and federal regulationsCoordinate with national Employee Relations and Leave of Absence teams to maintain collaboration and facilitate decision makingConduct employee separations as neededRecommend and implement process improvementsProvide clear, concise, and professional communication in all interactions and documentationCollaborate with senior leadership to align employee relations strategies with business goalsAttend company events and outings regularly to build rapport and strengthen relationships with leaders across the organizationAbility to travel nationally (up to 25%)Must be able to work on-site at the D.R. Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field10 years of Employee Relations and HR Management experience, including advising and counseling managers and employees on employee relations issues, administering discipline and grievance processes, performance management, and developing personnel policiesStrong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and employee relationsExcellent communication, analytical, and critical thinking skillsAbility to handle confidential information with great sensitivityProficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Taleo and PeopleSoft strongly preferredPHR or SHRM certification strongly preferred

Schedule – In Office, Monday – Friday
