Position Summary

 

The Employee Relations Coordinator serves as a key liaison between the Health Human Resources department and employees across the

organization. This role is instrumental in fostering a positive work environment by promoting open communication, mutual respect, and Just Culture

principles.

Required Key Skills and Qualifications

AA/BS in Human Resources preferred or in a related field, minimum of one - two years of experience in a generalist setting, specifically in employee relations or equivalent education, knowledge and experience.PHR/SPHR or other human resources certification preferred.Nonprofit Healthcare experience is a plus. Experience identifying and implementing solutions that ensure broad-based participation and opportunity. A proven track record of leveraging relevant qualifications to inform decisions and strategies.Strong communication skills to distribute unbiased, easily understood information to diverse audiences. Dedication to building and expanding skills relevant to the role, as well as supporting the growth of others on the team. Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.Exceptional customer service skills including active listening, problem solving, and the ability to remain professional in emotional or stressful situations.Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships.Ability to multitask with a strong ability to work under pressure.Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal and public presentation skills.Computer knowledge and skills, i.e., HRIS, payroll and Microsoft Office.Commitment to HIPAA and ability to abide by standards of professional ethics and maintain confidentiality.Assist and support the Center/Department/Program to meet standards of High Reliability.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

 

Guide supervisors and managers on fair and constructive coaching approaches that align with Just Culture principles when addressing employee performance, conduct and behavior concerns. Collaborate with management to develop fair and transparent performance improvement plans, corrective action notices and steps in the disciplinary process that reflect Just Culture principles and promote accountability, learning, and continuous improvement. Support the administration of worker’s compensation by managing all required documentation, initiating and tracking interactive processes, identifying employee risk factors and safety concerns, and coordinating with workers’ compensation insurance providers to ensure timely follow-up on all claims.Review all terminations to ensure the actions comply with Health policies and practices.Process voluntary terminations.Assist with involuntary terminations when needed. Ability to interpret Health employment policies and procedures.Responsible for compliance with federal, state and local employment laws.Assist with investigations of employee complaints.Assist with employment and compliance audits.Assist with the communication of organizational policies and updates. Other duties as assigned.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
