An Employee Health/ Infection Control RN manages employee health programs and implements infection control protocols within a healthcare setting. This role involves assessing employee health, administering vaccinations, managing work-related injuries, and developing and enforcing infection prevention practices. They also play a key role in educating staff and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Employee Health Program Management:
+ Oversees employee health programs, including pre-employment health assessments, vaccinations, and medical surveillance.
+ Manages employee health records and ensures compliance with occupational health regulations.
+ Assists with workers' compensation cases and return-to-work procedures.
+ Infection Control Program Management:
+ Develops, implements, and evaluates infection control policies and procedures.
+ Conducts surveillance activities to identify and monitor healthcare-associated infections.
+ Investigates infection outbreaks and implements control measures.
+ Provides education and training to healthcare staff on infection prevention and control practices.
+ Ensures compliance with relevant infection control standards and regulations.
+ Collaboration and Communication:
+ Collaborates with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and public health officials, to implement and improve infection control practices.
+ Communicates effectively with staff, patients, and visitors regarding infection control measures.
+ Other Duties:
+ Participates in quality improvement initiatives related to infection control.
+ Remains up-to-date on current infection control practices and regulations.
+ Responds to emergency situations and provides guidance on infection control protocols.
+ On-Call rotation with other RNs
+ As directed by manager
Education and Experience:
+ Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
+ Certification in infection control (CIC) is required or ability to obtain required.
+ Experience in infection control and employee health is preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of infection control principles, practices, and regulations.
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills.
