Are you self-motivated? Do you gravitate towards creative, innovative ideas? If so, then this position is for you! The Disability Innovation Fund (DIF) Navigator role is responsible for the recruitment and case management of students enrolled in the Pathways to Progress (P2P) Program. This P2P program collaborates with Vocational Rehabilitation, Centers for Independent Living, mental health providers, and local school districts to offer creative avenues for students to engage in career exploration through both individual and group workshops. This position is also responsible for creating student activities, bringing community stakeholders together for regular meetings, and recruiting partners to foster increased opportunities for students to become confident, independent, prepared individuals as they explore their futures. Human Resource Contact: kelly.gayer@wyo.gov ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. + Acts as a resource to explain the P2P program to potential clients, educators, family members, and all other community organizations. + Visits with assigned schools to help facilitate VR transition services (may include attending IEPs and other meetings) and distribute marketing materials to students, families, educators, and community stakeholders. Makes appropriate referrals of students to services within P2P and other community resources. + Helps initiate the application process for students with CILs, DVR, and mental health services. + Facilitates local P2P transition council meetings and attends statewide transition council meetings. + Provides innovative career exploration opportunities to students in individual and/or group activities. + Facilitates relationships with local employers for student work experience opportunities. + Coordinates and participates in outreach activities. + Provides education and training to employers and providers regarding the P2P program. Qualifications PREFERENCES: Preference for a Bachelor’s degree in a human service-related field Preference may be considered for an Associate's degree in the human service field and extensive experience Preference for one year of experience working with youth in secondary school or providing Pre-Employment Transition Services to students with disabilities Preference may be considered for equivalent combinations of related education and experience.
