The Employee Assistance Program Regional Manager is a key driver of United’s next-generation EAP strategy—delivering high-touch, business-facing support while partnering with Lyra Health for clinical care delivery. This role aligns directly with United’s operational and regulatory needs, particularly for FAA-regulated and safety-sensitive workgroups.The Regional Manager serves as a trusted advisor to leaders, HR Business Partners, and union peer groups—providing consultation, case management, and behavioral health expertise. They manage complex and sensitive cases, lead critical incident responses, and serve as part of United’s 24/7 EAP coverage, including rotating virtual on-call responsibilities.This role preserves the personal, relationship-based EAP model United leaders value, while driving operational support, compliance oversight, and crisis management.
Support Safety-Sensitive Populations: Manage FAA-regulated cases through administrative oversight of the HIMS program, SAP services, and compliance-related monitoringOversee day-to-day EAP activities for a designated region, including case management, reporting, and maintaining confidential records for all interactionsSpecialized Case Management: Coordinate Last Chance Agreements, mandated referrals, and crisis cases in collaboration with management, HR, Labor Relations, and Union representatives. Lead psychological first aid, trauma debriefs, and emergency interventions for critical incidents across the networkParticipate in the rotating virtual on-call model for escalated events, crisis support, and safety-sensitive incidentsProvide Business-Facing Consultation: Partner with leaders and HR Business Partners to proactively address productivity, performance, and behavioral concerns that may impact safety or operationsDrive a Culture of Care and Well-Being: Coach leaders on human factors, employee support strategies, and operational integration of wellness to enhance team performance and resilienceCoordinate with Lyra Health: Ensure seamless referrals and partnership alignment while maintaining United’s internal focus on regulatory compliance, safety, and critical incident response
