In this position...
We are looking for eMotor/Inverter (ISC) engineers to specifically work on electric drive Traction Inverter and eMotor design, development, and validation for the next generation electrified vehicles. The eMotor/ISC engineer will work to develop and validate hardware in vehicle as part of product development and ongoing production. The engineer will also work closely with vehicles in the field, assembly plants, and potentially suppliers in root cause analysis. In addition, the engineer will lead competitive benchmarking for eMotor and Inverter hardware.
Our diverse HEV Product Development Team – situated in Dearborn Michigan - is comprised of HEV product strategists, researchers, hardware designers, software designers, test and calibration engineers, prototypes, and project managers. Together our team works to understand our changing world, identify new opportunities, and take action to design and innovate for the future of mobility and sustainability– Ford’s vehicles and surrounding experiences.
You'll have...
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or related field
2+ years in Systems Engineering preferably in EV or HEV systems (Hybrid Electrical Vehicle)
Good academic knowledge of high voltage systems in automotive application
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Passion for electrification and visionary mindset

What you'll do...
Develop and cascade eMotor/ISC system and component requirements to meet vehicle level cascaded requirements
Collaborate with Vehicle (EVEMS) and Powertrain (UnSE) groups to optimize and deliver system hardware solutions
Lead delivery and documentation of all development milestones for eMotor/ISC system and components
Manage eMotor/ISC system timing to ensure on time and quality delivery to all vehicle builds
Coordinate Design Verification Testing for eMotor/ISC system and components and ensure all results are documented
Develop and maintain eMotor/ISC system level quality documents including Boundary Diagrams, P-Diagrams, DFMEA
Support eMotor/ISC system level competitive benchmarking and reports
Support alignment of power pack and platform package
Integrate lessons learned from previous programs
