Emissions Certification Test Engineer

The Emissions Certification Test Engineer is responsible for the preparation and testing of emissions certification vehicles. This includes but not limited to:

Complete ADP/SRC catalyst temperature profile testing, confirm validity, and publish final histogram Create vehicle buildup work-order and submit to garage for sea level/high altitude testing in accordance to build letter Resolve test vehicle issues to reach production intent functionality level, request vehicle updates and acquire parts as needed Update vehicle calibrations (flashing) and run associated procedures Coordinate Mileage Accumulation for vehicles Create verification test requests in ETS and review data Generate Support Testing Requests, review data, post reports in GRCS, Lotus, SharePoint, etc. Generate and Post Vehicle Maintenance Logs Managing fleet of certification vehicles Supporting other compliance requests with test data

 

This is primarily an onsite position at the Chelsea Proving Grounds, with occasional off shift/weekend test support.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering Minimum FIVE (5) years of experience in Automotive Testing (with an emphasis on emissions or fuel economy testing) required Demonstrated organizational/tracking skills. This position requires tracking multiple vehicles through a process Must have strong computer skills with a focus on data analysis (MS Excel, DCPlot, CDA) Some knowledge of North American Emissions regulations, testing and certification processes/procedures Ability to work onsite with NBU and BU personnel in labs and garages Strong interpersonal skills required for interacting with powertrain and vehicle development teams

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Hybrid and/or Electric vehicle testing experience is a plus Corporate Software exposure - ETS, CWOS, CDA, Powercal, INCA, PGTIS, GRCS, JTETSO Propulsion system calibration or aftertreatment system experience is desired Experience with Vehicle Diagnostics and CAN data collection
