Description:

The Emergency Department (ED) Technician assists medical and nursing staff in providing technical support for patient care

Responsibilities:

The ED Technician's responsibilities include collecting, communicating and documenting data and informationPerforming diagnostic testing, surveillance and monitoringAssisting with and performing treatments and proceduresMaintaining medical equipment and suppliesAssisting with transportation of patients, supplies, specimens and medicationsResponding to emergencies including initiation of emergency measuresAnd performing associated and delegated duties in support of departmental and hospital operations.

Current licensure by the Maryland State Board for Certified Nursing Assistant (current EMT license will be accepted in lieu of CNA license)High School DiplomaBLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association)Minimum one-year experience as certified nursing assistant (corpsman, or EMT/paramedic training may be alternatively considered), or equivalent education and training in basic disease processes, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.

Pay Range: $17.58 – $23.85

Pay is based on experience, skills and education.  Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.  The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
